Club 2010-2011
"In the final analysis it is not what you do for your children but what you have taught them to do for themselves that will make them successful himan beings." -Ann Landers
We are very excited to begin another after-school year at the Club full of many new and exciting activities. One of the most anticipated events wil the the remodeling and opening of our "new" Club site in downtown Berne (117 E. Main St.) becaue each program will have its own space. The State of Indiana has approved our requested variances and work should begin soon on the interior. At this time we do not have a "move in" date but as soon as we do, you'll be able to hear us shouting it from the roof tops!!
At the new building our entrance will be on Main Street with minimal parking in front and some additional short-term parking on Behring Street. Consequently, some important changes need to become a part of everyone's routine. Staring immediately, it is MANDATORY that you come into the building to pick up your child. We will not longer send them out with a phone call from you. This is for the safety of our members (your children) and it will give you a chance to check our message board, as well as pick up any handouts. Also, we must have a working number for your child's cantact person AT ALL TIMES.
In addition, beginning immediately all member will be required to have their membership cards not only to check in, but also to participate in certain activities, such as using computers and pool tables, checking out board games and participating in special clubs and Club Store.
When registering for Club membership, whether for the first time or as a renewal, your child is issued a membership card, plastic sleeve and lanyard. Each of these items costs $1 to replace. For example, if their card is misplaced, but they still have the sleeve and lanyard, the cost will be $1 to replace the card. If all three are misplaced, it will cost $3 to replace the set. Please be aware that members may use the Club Bucks that they earn here at Club to replace missing cards, sleeves, and/or lanyards.
As always, we want the South Adams Boys & Girls Club to the the positive and safe place for your child. It at any time you or they have any concerns, please do not hesitate to call or talk with us when you come inside to pick them up.
Thank you for sharing your children with us!
